Ryan was unable to order restitution for the home, which sustained an estimated $450,000 in damage, as insurers still are assessing the damage and working out a settlement.

String Of Fires Hit Many Churches Across America

In communities across America, churches were burning. Catholic, Protestant – it didn’t seem to matter. All Christian houses of worship seemed to be in the crosshairs.

“Churches includes Baptist, Episcopal and Christian Scientist, Catholic,  Lutheran and Presbyterian churches.  Texas was the victim of 10 arson’s and Florida was the victim of 17 church arson’s alone.

In Texas earlier this year – two young men were recently arrested in connection with 10 suspected arsons over two months in East Texas.

In Florida, however, it took months – and several fires – for investigators to find the unstable drifter they deemed responsible for setting at least 17 fires throughout the state.

In the meantime, churches have closed their doors and some even posted overnight guards.

Question:  Has your church designed an Emergency Action Plan for Fire?  Does you church have written emergency evacuation procedures?  Have your employees been trained on the plans?  How often are drills conducted?  Has your employees received fire extinguisher training?  If not, why not?  Call Watchman Security & Safety Consulting Ministry today to help you design a site specific plan that meets OSHA, State and your organizations safety objectives!
