FBI joins investigation into church vandalism…

January 20, 2012 – Knox County, Teen – FBI has join investigation into the recent attacks of vandalism of churches located in West Knox County.  According to officials, three churches have had their windows smashed.  The churches are: Concord Original Church of God, Concord Presbyterian Church & Concord A.M.E. Zion Church.  Officials have reported that nothing was stolen out of the churches.  Police & FBI have not made any arrest.  Pray for these churches!

Man Shot Unintentionally at Church….

January 24, 2012 – Wentzville, Missouri – Police report that a man was unintentional shot after a fundraiser at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Police report that during the taking down of decorations while people were popping balloons there was a pop that was unrecognizable and members discovered that 23-year-old Aaron Dwan, was the victim of a gunshot wound.  Aaron was rushed to the hospital where he was reported as in serious condition but stable condition.  Police report that a “person of interest” went to the police where the police have determined that the shooting was not intentional.

Man robs choir members at gunpoint…..

January 19, 2012 – Goose Creek, South Carolina – Police report that a black male wearing a knit cap entered St. James United Methodist Church on Wednesday night around 8 p.m. and demanded that choir members get down on the ground and give him their money.

Police report that after suspect collected the victims’ wallets he left.  No injuries were reported.  Police stated that the case if under investigation.

Former minister accused of sexual assault….

January 13, 2012 – Canada – CTV News has learned a man facing charges in an alleged sexual assault against a Saskatchewan girl in 1979 is a former Manitoba United Church minister.

George Cargo, 65, was charged after a 38-year-old Saskatchewan woman reported an incident to police in July 2011.

Saskatchewan RCMP said the woman was seven years old at the time of the incident and lived in Togo, Sask.

Mounties said the incident happened at her home. Cargo lived in Canora, Sask. at the time.

He later became a minister at the Neepawa United Church in Manitoba, a position he held from 1994 until 2009, when church officials said he retired.

Church officials spoke out on Jan. 12.

“You know, it’s an unfortunate truth in a community as large as ours that there are unscrupulous and conflicted individuals who will betray the trust of individuals. The United Church of Canada will respond efficiently and quickly when that trust is betrayed,” said Bruce Faurschou from the United Church of Canada.

The charge against Cargo remains before the courts. His next court appearance in Kamsack is slated for Feb. 7.

Church Shooting Injuries Nine Youth

December 24, 2010 – Chattanooga – Nine people were injured after a Christmas Eve party at Club Fathom, Mosaic’s outreach program for urban youth.  The Christmas shooting stemmed from an argument inside the church during a party.  Police have arrested two juveniles both gang members suspects in the Mossic Christmas shooting

Police charged the 15-year-old with nine counts of attempted first-degree murder, nine counts of aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and reckless endangerment.

Charges are pending against the second suspect, police said.

City officials have called the place a nuisance, citing previous violence.

Philadelphia Man Charged With Arson

January 11, 2012 – Marysville Ohio -

A Philadelphia man accused of driving a car into his former Ohio church, setting the building on fire and watching it burn has been charged with arson.

Patton says Beightler drove the BMW into the doors of New Horizons Baptist Church in Marysville and sat on a swing set watching the church burn to the ground.

Sheriff Jamie Patton in central Ohio‘s Union County says 30-year-old Stephen Beightler (BEET’-lur) was arrested early Tuesday. Patton says Beightler drove the BMW into the doors of New Horizons Baptist Church in Marysville and sat on a swing set watching the church burn to the ground. The sheriff says a friend reported the car missing.

Patton says the fire began near the car but authorities aren’t sure how it started. No injuries were reported.

Court officials say Beightler is charged with arson and receiving stolen property. He was jailed Tuesday, with bail set at $1 million. Court records show no attorney for him.

Arcadia First Baptist Church Victim of Graffiti

January 10, 2012 – SPARTANBURG, SC - Spartanburg County investigators are searching for clues after a church was vandalized sometime during a five day span.An incident report obtained from the Sheriff’s Office disclosed that someone spray painted a picture depicting a “red pitchfork with the word ‘Folk’ underneath” in an area of Arcadia First Baptist Church. The report further states that an obscenity word was spray painted in another area in the back of the church.

During the course of investigating the crime, which is believed to have occurred between January 4 and January 8, deputies found another obscene word spray painted on the sidewalk in the back side of the church and the letter “D” spray painted on a fence post behind the church.  A light bulb in the telephone pole outside the church was also knocked out, as well as a rear window of the church.

Members of the church started cleaning some of the graffiti off of the church following church services on Sunday.

Vandals Flood Church With Water….

January 10, 2012 – A church is facing some costly repairs from flooding in it’s youth center but it wasn’t rain doing the damage.

Police suspect vandals, and it’s not the first time.

Three break-ins over the past year. Ed Downs is the pastor at First Baptist Church in New Iberia.

“They broke in and got $25 out of our children’s program offering.” Downs says, “they give (that money) to missionaries.”

$25 is all the thieves made off with the first two times. This week, another break-in but they didn’t take money.

“They broke into our youth refuge center and when they broke in, they found no money.” Downs says, “but (they) did vandalism.”

The church’s Youth Director, Jennifer Shores says she woke up Monday morning to find the youth center overflowing with water.

“We’re here to serve our community, we’re here to serve God and we’ll continue to do that no matter what.” Shores says, “this is just a stone in the road and we just need to jump over that and keep going.”

Police don’t have any suspects but Shores is praying for these break-ins to come to an end. After all, it’s hurting the children the most.

“We love our children no matter what, we love the people no matter what.” Shores says, “we just keep going.”

Pastor MarShon Peoples shot in head while protecting youth

January 7, 2010 – Gaines Township, Mich – Police report that Youth Pastor MarShon Peoples was shot in the head after he denied eight teens entry into the “Streams of Hope” party he was hosting because they smelled like alcohol and marijuana according to Pastor Peoples.  After teens refused to leave after repeatedly  being asked by Pastor Peoples who then elected to contact the police.  According to Pastor Peoples, that is when he was shot.  Witnesses said that approximately 25 shots were fired but no else was hurt. (Thank GOD!)  Pastor People is recovering well after surgery to remove the bullet from his head.  Pastor Peoples said that he harbors no hard feelings toward the young men who shot him.  (Wow!  What an example of Christ-in-us)No arrest have been made.  CHURCH SECURITY 360, Degrees, LLC salutes Pastor Peoples and prays for his quick and full recovery!

Church volunteer charged with sexually assaulting boys….

January 31, 2011 – Calgary Police report that sex charges have been filed against a former church volunteer following allegations involving three boys in the 1980s and 90s.  According to the authorities the incidents took placed at the accused’s home.  Rodman was a volunteer leader at one Calgary Baptist church on 1981.  Rodman has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count each of gross indecency, indecent exposure to a person under 14 and sexual contact with a youth by a person in authority.  He is due to appeared in court on February 10.
