September 20, 2015 – East Selma, Alabama – Police authorities reported that James Junior Minter, 26, is being held without bond in the shooting of his girlfriend, his infant son and a pastor who tried to intervene Sunday morning. Accordingly to police and witnesses, Minter opened fire during church service at Oasis Tabernacle Church in East Selma, Alabama. Minter shot his girlfriend in the face and a 1-month-old boy, was shot in the hand. Pastor Carswell, of Oasis Tabernacle Church, was shoot in the leg while trying to grab the weapons from Minter. Accordingly to officials victims are in stable condition.
KNOXVILLE, TN – MAY 25, 2015: On 25 May 2015, a gunman bursted into a Knoxville, Tenn., church and opened fire with a shotgun while children were performing a production of “Annie” killing one and wounding eight. No given motive or reason for the churching.
Hartford – May 24, 2015: The Rev. Dr. Augustus Sealy, 54, who leads the First Church of the Nazarene at 932 Capitol Ave., was shot outside the church.
The victim was placing flags in front of First Church of Nazarene there in honor of Memorial day when he was shot three times, police said. He was shot twice in the right leg, and once in the left shoulder, police said.
Members of the church confirmed the pastor, Augustus Sealy of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, underwent surgery after the incident Sunday morning.
Sealy, 54, is in stable condition, police said. Ironically, today was his five-year anniversary as pastor.

December 4, 2014- Bradenton, Fla. – Manatee County Sheriff reported that Pastor Tripp Battle of Bayshore Baptist Church and Bayshore Baptist’s Nursery/Children’s director Amber Avalos. Mrs. Avalos was the wife of suspected shooter Andy Avalos. The Manatee County Sheriff Department reports that Andy Avalos remains on the loose.
Phoenix, AZ – Two Priest were shot at Mother of Mercy church in Phoenix, AZ on June 13, 2014. Pastor Walker, died at the scene and Pastor Joseph Terra, was injured but is expected to recover. Police have no suspects at this time.
27 September 2013 – LAKE CHARLES, LA – Sheriff’s Office reports that a pastor was shot and killed while preaching Friday night in Calcasieu.
Sheriff’s office said 53-year-old Woodrow Karey, of Lake Charles, is accused of walking into the church and shooting Pastor Ronald J.Harris Sr. as he was preaching during a revival. Sheriff office says that Pastor Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. Karey, surrendered to law enforcement officials and has been charged with second degree murder. No motive has been determined. Karey was armed with a shotgun and .22 caliber handgun. Law enforcement officials have recovered both weapons. Please join us in praying for the family of Pastor Harris, Sr and Woodrow Karey.
18 September – 2013 – SOUTH BEND, Ind.– Police officials reported that a gunman wearing a mask entered a South Bend church Wednesday Evening and shot two bullets at a church member working inside. Sunday Kingdom Christian Center in South Bend. According to officials, the church message was focused on spiritual warfare and advocacy against gun violence. No injuries were sustained during the incident. No arrest have been made at the time of this posting.
August 20, 2013 – Chicago- Three men in a white vehicle fired gunshots at a group of people on the steps of the Uptown Baptist Church, Monday evening. Witnesses told police that one gunman fired as many as 20 shots from the vehicle. Police say that the shooting was gang related. Three of the people who were shot were listed from stable to critical condition. One person received minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital and one of the persons shot was in critical condition and on life support, and was not expected to survive. July 22, 2013: NORWOOD, Mo. – Earnest J. Smith, 48- years-of-age was arrested today and faces five separate felony charges after Police say he fired two shots inside the Norwood First Baptist Church during Sunday morning services.
Earnest Smith is being held in the Wright County Jail on $250,000 cash only bond. Prosecutors have charged Smith with first-degree assault, shooting a firearm from a building, unlawful use of a weapon, making a terrorist threat and armed criminal action. According to authorities, Earnest Smith had made previous threats in the past to kill the pastor and members of the church. People attending the church at the time had tackled Smith and held him until deputies could arrive. Thank God for courages church members who take safety and security seriously!

March 31, 2013 – Ashtabula, Ohio: On Easter Sunday during mass, Reshad Riddle entered Hiawatha Church of God in Christ screaming about God and Allah, with a gun in his hand according to witnesses. While parishioners were leaving the church, Reshad then shot his 52-year old father, Richard Riddle. According to authorities, Riddle had an extensive criminal record. Riddle was immediately arrested and taken into custody by police.
