Pastor’s Mother Shot & Killed

April 22, 2012 – Aurora – Police say the mother of Pastor De Lono Straham, Destiny Christian Center, was shot and killed Sunday afternoon at the end of the worship service.

The Police say the shooting suspect and the pastor’s mother were shot and taken to a local hospital where they both died.  The suspect was shot by an off-duty Denver Police officer who was a member of the church and is the pastor’s cousin.  Police currently have no motive for the shooting.

Pastor’s daughter shot at Florida church dies


ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – February 18, 2012 – Authorities say a pastor’s daughter who was accidentally shot in the head in a Florida church has died.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Hannah Kelley died Saturday in the hospital. An autopsy is pending.

Feb 14, 2012 – St. Petersburg, Fla – Authorities say that the daughter of a pastor who was shot in the head while at church was accidental.  Police say that Moises Zambrana was showing his gun to another member of the church in a small closet when the gun reportedly fired going through a wall injuring the pastor daughter Hannah Kelley.  Authorities report that Hannah was transported to the hospital where she is still in critical condition.  Police said that Zambrana had a permit to carry a concealed weapon and no charges have been filed.  Please lift up Hannah Kelly, her family and Moises Zambrana in prayer.  Pray for Hannah’s quick and full recovery!

Man Shot Unintentionally at Church….

January 24, 2012 – Wentzville, Missouri – Police report that a man was unintentional shot after a fundraiser at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Police report that during the taking down of decorations while people were popping balloons there was a pop that was unrecognizable and members discovered that 23-year-old Aaron Dwan, was the victim of a gunshot wound.  Aaron was rushed to the hospital where he was reported as in serious condition but stable condition.  Police report that a “person of interest” went to the police where the police have determined that the shooting was not intentional.

Church Shooting Injuries Nine Youth

December 24, 2010 – Chattanooga – Nine people were injured after a Christmas Eve party at Club Fathom, Mosaic’s outreach program for urban youth.  The Christmas shooting stemmed from an argument inside the church during a party.  Police have arrested two juveniles both gang members suspects in the Mossic Christmas shooting

Police charged the 15-year-old with nine counts of attempted first-degree murder, nine counts of aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and reckless endangerment.

Charges are pending against the second suspect, police said.

City officials have called the place a nuisance, citing previous violence.

Pastor MarShon Peoples shot in head while protecting youth

January 7, 2010 – Gaines Township, Mich – Police report that Youth Pastor MarShon Peoples was shot in the head after he denied eight teens entry into the “Streams of Hope” party he was hosting because they smelled like alcohol and marijuana according to Pastor Peoples.  After teens refused to leave after repeatedly  being asked by Pastor Peoples who then elected to contact the police.  According to Pastor Peoples, that is when he was shot.  Witnesses said that approximately 25 shots were fired but no else was hurt. (Thank GOD!)  Pastor People is recovering well after surgery to remove the bullet from his head.  Pastor Peoples said that he harbors no hard feelings toward the young men who shot him.  (Wow!  What an example of Christ-in-us)No arrest have been made.  CHURCH SECURITY 360, Degrees, LLC salutes Pastor Peoples and prays for his quick and full recovery!

Man kills wife then shoots Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor at church…

September 18, 2011 - Jeremiah Fogle, 57, was charged with murder and attempted murder after Sunday’s shootings at Greater Faith Christian Center Church located in Lakeland FLA.

During a hearing Monday, he was ordered held without bond and assigned a public defender.

Pastor William Boss and associate pastor Carl Stewart were shot from behind, authorities said. Boss was shot in the head, and Stewart was shot three times in the back and ear. They remained hospitalized Monday.

Ex-con gets life for LA church carnival shootings

May 17, 2011 – SAN FERNANDO, Calif.—A Los Angeles parolee has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting his son’s mother and two men at a church carnival in 2008.

Prosecutor Ruby Arias says 36-year-old Fernando Diaz won’t be eligible for a parole hearing until he’s 98 years old.

Diaz was in a bitter custody battle with his ex-girlfriend when he showed up at the St. John Baptist de la Salle Church fundraiser in suburban Granada Hills and shot her as she was setting up a carnival booth.

The woman and two men who were also wounded recovered.

Diaz was convicted on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of being a felon with a firearm. He was acquitted of a third attempted murder count.

March 25, 2011 – SAN FERNANDO, Calif.—A jury has convicted a Los Angeles parolee of attempted murder for the 2008 church carnival shootings of his son’s mother and a festival volunteer.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Fernando Diaz, who was in a bitter custody battle with his ex-girlfriend, showed up at the St. John Baptist de la Salle Church fundraiser in suburban Granada Hills and shot his ex-girlfriend as she was setting up a carnival booth.

She was wounded in the elbow and two volunteers had bullet wounds.

Five parents, including off-duty police officers, tackled and disarmed Diaz.

A jury on Thursday convicted Diaz on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of being a felon with a firearm. He was acquitted of a third attempted murder count.

Youngstown church in Ohio lost 2 parishioners to shootings in 2010
